>>> Hullo! <<<
Of course you could simply create a simple text file with your
favorite editor and TYPE it onto the console. A menu item "1"
will then have an appropriate 1.BAT or the like. This is very
effective - but not too nice. Everyone is used to "mouse and
menus". And of course any mouse or hotkey control would be too
difficult to realize with the above idea. Even the use of some
colors would be difficult. But why don't you use PowerBatch
then? It is not more difficult to use than other possibilities
- but it gives your menus a much more professional appearance
at a minimum of effort (the whole program has less than 30 kb
and will run if only dos will still be able to run). As an
example, this tutorial has been created ONLY making use of the
PowerBatch functionality at a great extent. PowerBatch is as
easy as other menu systems (at least), but it can do much more
- if you don't believe it, go have a try. Look at the file
pbhelp.bat and refer to the parameter tables as provided with
this menu system, and you will get through it in half an hour.
Or continue reading. Some of the most important ideas will be
explained in the following.
